Elementary and Primary Students Participate in World Record Sport Stacking Event

Students from Wayne Central School District Elementary and Primary Schools participated in a global sport stacking event that set a new world record. Alongside 784,036 students from schools worldwide, Wayne Central students contributed to the record for “Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations,” as recognized by the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA). The event was held from November 18–20, 2025.
Sport stacking, also known as cup stacking, is a timed activity in which participants stack and unstack 12 specially designed cups, commonly called Speed Stacks, in predetermined sequences. Participants compete individually and in relay formats.
The activity supports the development of hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, speed, concentration, and physical engagement. Sport stacking requires coordinated use of both sides of the body, reinforcing bilateral motor skills and cognitive processing. These skills are transferable to academic tasks and activities such as athletics, music performance, and technology-based skills.
If this achievement sounds familiar, it's because Wayne Elementary and Primary Schools also helped set the same world record in 2023, when 746,698 students participated in the WSSA event worldwide.
